Volunteer Coach Qualifications

1.  All coaches must successfully pass a Criminal Background Check
2.  All coaches must take the Rutgers S.A.F.E.T.Y. course
3.  All coaches must be 18 years and older
4.  All coaches must wear a Coach's photo I.D. at all times
DUE TO COMPLIANCE, ONLY PEOPLE WITH THESE QUALIFICATIONS CAN BE PERMITTED ON THE FIELD

Open Positions with the Parks & Recreation Committee
Commissioners are volunteer positions and appointed by the Mayor.  If you are
interested in this position, you must first go to Borough Hall and fill out a Talent
Bank form indicating your interest.

If you are interested in being a Coach or Coordinator for any recreation program
or activity, please send an email to the Recreation Director at dpasse@npmail.org.

Field Usage Form
Any teams or organizations who need to use a field outside of the days and times already scheduled by the Recreation
Commission for games must complete a Field Usage form and receive approval.  Anyone using fields without prior
approval will be asked to leave.  Click on the following link to access the

Code of Conduct
Effective immediately.
North Plainfield Recreation has passed an ordinance to implement and adhere to the following Codes of Conduct.  
Please click on the appropriate one to read the guidelines.  
All players, parents, and coaches will need to sign the necessary Code of Conduct.
(Violation of NJ State law P.L.2002, c.74. – Athletic Codes of Conduct could result in criminal penalties)

Winter Holiday Celebration
Thank you to all who participated in our Annual Winter Holiday Celebration and
Lighting of the Tree at Vermeule.  We hope to see you next year!  This event always
takes place on the first Sunday after Thanksgiving. View

Basketball
Don't Miss the 2015-2016 Basketball Festival!
Saturday, December 5th, 2015 - 1 pm (see below) and 3 pm (see below)
For the first time, we will have the Festival in December to kick-off the beginning of
the basketball season at the NPHS Gym.

1 pm
Teams in the following leagues should come to the gym for the 1 pm session:
Kindergarten, 1st Grade, 2nd Grade, 3-4 Boys, 3-4-5 Girls
3 pm
Teams in the following leagues should come to the gym for the 3 pm session:
5-6 Boys, 6-7-8 Girls, 7-8 Boys

Recreation offers a RUTGERS S.A.F.E.T.Y. class prior to each season for it's
coaches and staff. For more information, go to the

If your child does not attend North Plainfield Public Schools and you wish to be
informed of all recreational activities, please email Assistant Director, Roe Woods,
with your name and email information to rwoods@npmail.org.  Roe will be happy to
send out an  email to all families informing them of our current events.
