Don't Miss Soccer Day Season Opening Day Clinics - This Sunday!
Soccer Registration is now closed.

All players should have been contacted by their coach by now.  
If you have not been contacted, then contact the Recreation office
AND Come to Soccer Day based on your child's age group below.

All registered recreation soccer players are invited to participate in our

Annual Soccer Clinic for some skills and thrills.
All players should start at Upper Krausche for Opening Ceremonies.
Our younger athletes will then go to Lower Krausche.  

Please find your age group and team below to determine your
Session Time and Location.
Please arrive a minimum of :15 early to check-in and find your team.

Kindergarten:  ALL Teams - Session 1 starts at 1 pm
First Grade:  
Teams #1 & #2 - Session 1 starts at 1 pm
Teams #3, #4 & #5 - Session 2 starts at 3 pm
Second Grade:  ALL Teams - Session 2 starts at 3 pm
3rd/4th Grade BOYS:  ALL Teams - Session 1 starts at 1 pm
5th/6th Grade BOYS:  ALL Teams - Session 1 starts at 1 pm
3rd/4th/5th Grade GIRLS:  ALL Teams - Session 2 starts at 3 pm
6
th/7th/8th Grade GIRLS:  ALL Teams - Session 2 starts at 3 pm
7th/8th Grade BOYS:  ALL Teams - Session 2 starts at 3 pm

Games will begin October 4th.
Co-Ed Adult Basketball and Badminton
Registration now OPEN for our co-ed adult basketball and badminton programs. Both
programs will be played at East End gym.
Basketball: Every Tuesday and Thursday night from 7:30 to 9:30
Badminton: Every Wednesday night from 7:30 to 9:30

To register go to Sports tab, click on adult sports, print a form and drop off with your
payment and slide it through the mail slot at 93 Greenbrook Road. Please disregard the
year on the top of the registration form.

Both programs will start around early October.
WINTER Sports Registration for Basketball and Wrestling
In Person Registration Dates at Vermeule (614 Greenbrook Road):  
October 22, 23, and 24 from 7-9 pm and
Saturday, 10/25 from 9-12pm

Halloween Mutt-squerade!   First Time Event!
November 2nd
Join us for some Howl-o-ween fun!  North Plainfield is hosting a Pup Costume Parade at
the Vermeule Mansion.   Come see pups of all sizes dressed up for a Mutt-squerade!  
Dress your Pup to the ca-nines and compete for prizes awarded by our (local) celebrity
judges!  
Meet dog vendors from across NJ, including Gourmet dog treats, boarding and grooming,
dog-sitting and walking, and waste pickup.  Have your pup’s portrait taken with our Pet
Photographer or visit our Pet Psychic!  Stop by the Ask-a-Vet table for health advice.  
ALL proceeds benefit the Associated Humane Societies.
Event begins at 10am, with Costume Parade beginning at noon.  To register as a
participant (Free!) or for information on being a vendor, please email

RUTGERS S.A.F.E.T.Y. Class

Recreation offers a RUTGERS S.A.F.E.T.Y. class prior to each season for it's coaches
and staff.  The Rutgers Safety Certified course is being held on:
  • TBD at the Vermeule Community Center from 6:30-9:30 pm, 614 Clinton Avenue
To Register:  Email dpasse@npmail.org or call the Recreation office
Cost:  FREE to residents coaching during the current season and $30.00 for non-
residents.
Everyone must be punctual. Once the class starts late comers will not be
allowed in.

1.  All coaches must successfully pass a Criminal Background Check
2.  All coaches must take the Rutgers S.A.F.E.T.Y. course
3.  All coaches must be 18 years and older
4.  All coaches must wear a Coach's photo I.D. at all times
DUE TO COMPLIANCE, ONLY PEOPLE WITH THESE QUALIFICATIONS CAN BE
PERMITTED ON THE FIELD
NORTH PLAINFIELD ADULT SPORTS
North Plainfield Recreation currently offers Adult Co-Ed Softball (Spring),
Men's Softball (Summer), and Adult Archery (Fall).  If you are interested
in starting an adult sports league, please contact Larry LaRonde at
lltap@comcast.net

Open Positions with the Parks & Recreation Commission
Commissioners are volunteer positions and appointed by the Mayor.  If you are
interested in this position, you must first go to Borough Hall and fill out a Talent
Bank form indicating your interest.

If you are interested in being a Coach or Coordinator for any recreation program
or activity, please send an email to the Recreation Director at dpasse@npmail.org.

Field Usage Form
Any teams or organizations who need to use a field outside of the days and times already
scheduled by the Recreation Commission for games must complete a Field Usage form
and receive approval.  Anyone using fields without prior approval will be asked to leave.

Code of Conduct
Effective immediately.
North Plainfield Recreation has passed an ordinance to implement and adhere to the
following Codes of Conduct.  Please click on the appropriate one to read the guidelines.  
All players, parents, and coaches will need to sign the necessary Code of Conduct.
(Violation of NJ State law P.L.2002, c.74. – Athletic Codes of Conduct could result in
criminal penalties)
